OK-I've decided to go from manual over to a hydro setup on the Pro tools 105HD. I pretty much know that I'll be using a 3" ram but I'm stuck on the power unit option to run the hydro itself. What is the major difference between the electric self contained units and the air assisted hydro units I've seen. How much psi does the unit actually need to get a decent bend that won't take an hour?
I've noticed that Harbor Freight has one of those air assisted hydro foot pedal units for about $100 that will push 10,000 psi. Garbage or worth it? I was thinking that with an air driven unit, plus a York on board air system I'd be able to have a travelling bender! Any input for electric pump over an air powered hydro pump?
