I run a Yukon SPool in the rear. Not necessarily and AllPro, but a spool none the less. I find mine just fine on the road. I did find out a trick from OTT's write-up on spools. I have my 35" BFG's aired up to about 38pounds and it doesnt really chirp at all. One thing that I like over a locker (exception for ARB) is that it doesnt bang around corners.

Hope that helps a bit.

Hey Whizzy - what's their price on the spool?

I know the Dewco one used to be under $150, then All Pro started selling them and the price mysteriously went up to $229 I was just wondering if you can still get them for a REASONABLE price...

DEWCO is the only one who currently makes toy spool's, the YUKON is a re-box and re-badge as is most of Randy's stuff, i have one too... they're over or close to $200 everywhere...

I think that you are one of the lucky ones. Have you wheeled the locker hard at all? Maybe that makes a diff. Im not being condesending (sp?) either. Just wondering.

DRM. I actually had the Spool donated (so to speak) to me.

Anyone know anything about mini-spools? I've seen them for Ford rears, but never for Toyotas. I'm interested because they're normally a bunch cheaper (like $50-70 for a ford rear).

Rumor was somebody was working on putting out a mini spool, but the way things go lately they will be fawkin' overpriced too...

I tried unsuccessfully to track down a mini spool manufacturer who I *thought* made one that would fit.. 'cause $70 for a mini-spool would have been SWEET

FYI back before all-pro carrierd the spool i called dewco and tried to get one from them. yes the price was 150 but you needed to buy 50 at a time. i remeber the thread where somebody said they bought just one, but when i called dewco the each price was more than all-pro's. all that aside i think 229 is a fair price.

spools rule!

i like the spool in mine, picked up from AP.
it is drivable since i am DD mine, it is chowdering the fawk out of my tires though, but oh well just an excuse to get bigger.
does create a little understeer and body roll if you have soft springs
but the traction is sweet and no parts to break, excpet axles, r&p etc etc

Make that 48, I'll buy one for that truck that I don't have yet . I'll ask that guy who has a Ford Mini spool where he got his from, he might be able to help out or might know a x-reference on another shaft.

well that would get you a 17% mark up and a 14% margin. even the most efficient business model can not survive on those numbers. you would be bankrupt in a flash. then we could buy them at your forclosure auction for pennies on the dollar.

Sure, if you are working off a profit model... but if I was talking expendible cash flow, no overhead (except room to store 50 spools) I WOULD be making money
