84 Toyota 22re
originally external reg. (45 amp) Swapped in Internal Regulated Alt.(65 amp) from ? yr.

The plugs are different. (3 wire vs. 4 wire) or (4 wire vs. 5 wire) or something like that.
The alt. is now pushing 17 volts and frying my battery.
I have not tried swapping in a different internal reg. alt. yet.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows what wires go where when switching from external reg. to internal reg.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing the overcharging?
