Ok, i was on my way to work last Friday, and i stopped at the wendys to get lunch. So i make my order and start to pull up to the window to pay the girl, when i hear the loud snap of an axleshaft, I knew what it was as soon as i heard it. WTF?! So i got my lunch and looked at it to make sure the wheel wouldn't fall off, then limped it into work (.5 mile) now in 1 wheel drive, borrow my bosses truck and go pick a new axle from the junkyard.
So has anybody else had a problem with breaking axles with a spool? It broke just inside of the bearings, right where the clip goes. I've been running the spool for almost a year, and with a lock right forever before that. Guess it was just stressed from everything and finally gave up.
Am i hardcore for breaking my junk in the drive thru? haha

You have to be talking about the rear axle. So did you do a brg there recently? My rear axle broke at the end of the side gear splines..

Yes, the rear axle. I assume you mean bearing? They were replaced about 2 years ago. I would have expected it to break near the splines too, but no. Guess its better it broke where it did as no metal pieces made it into the actual diff.
