Sorry, i am not too smart when it comes to this stuff. When yall are referring to welded the rear differential is that the same as having a locking diff? Are there any writeups on how to do this??

Here is what I am gonna do. Please tell me if anything sounds odd. On a 85 Xtra Cab. Put rears up front with longer homemade shackles. Rear chevy springs and shackles. Prolly run 35s.

Welding a rear diff, is permanent. Spiders are fused .
No unlocking ever. Typically done on trail-only vehicles
since it affects steering, and wears out tires fast.
Cheaper than buying a locker, though.
