I jumped in my truck last night and it feels like it is stuck in about 4th gear. <IMG SRC="smilies/crybaby2.gif" border="0"> A shifting fork must have broken. When I move the shifter out of neutral, it completely binds up and won't move. When I move the shifter around through the gears, it won't go in reverse or 5th. I guess on the bright side, it brought me home before it died. I want to know WTF I did to cause this. Has anyone ever heard of one grenading in the driveway? Are they hard to rebuild? Would I need any special tools?

I broke mine too. It took out the slider and several little pawls and the larger thing the gear slides on. ( Technical terms! )
Cost about $150 for all the parts, but I did some bearings too. Check with Marllin for better prices than Toyota.

You may want to look at this shifter seat. These wear out and will drop the shifter down and make hard to shift.
