Hey y'all. I am new to the board and I just inherited an 84 4Runner with 2 thrown rods from my brother. I am looking for a replacement motor. Does anyone have a 22r motor they are looking to unload, and also, Id like to do an EFI swap, but it looks like a daunting task. Is it worth the extra trouble? Thanks for any help.

I've got 3-22RE's - $550 for motors minus EFI - $1100 for Complete Motor w/EFI and A/C

Well, I found a 22RE motor at a good price, and it has the EFI stuff, but now I need an ECU, wire harness, and what else? A fuel tank, right?

Check this site out, http://www.yankeetoys.org/black900rr/EFI.html I'm ripping out the original wiring harness out of my carbed Toy today to start off my conversion. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

The hardest part of my swap was finding the damn flexible fuel line hoses. Toyota wants over $100 for each of them, so do yourself a favor and get em in a yard. Take your time and definitely get a FSM for the year of the wiring harness you're using. 85-86 are the same, but 87 + harnesses differ
