great axle if you dont need any lower than a 456 gear , alreadt 35 spline 1.5 o.d. shafts, full floating , no many locker choices though <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
I believe that it is a Sterling 10 1/4" not a 10 1/2. The 10 1/2's are only from the 99 and newer SuperDutys..
If it has factory rear disk brakes with 8 on 170 mm then it is a 10 1/2.
I dont know about the selection on gears or lockers on the older 10 1/4's stuff, but I know things are pretty limited for the newer stuff...

There has been much talk about this axle here recently. Randy's ring and pinion sells the gears and detroits for them, they go as low as a 5.38 (I think). They are a big rear end, long pinion shaft. I have one in my f-250 very beefy.
I have run a 10.25 under my Bronco running 38's for the last year, haven't had a single problem with it. It's geared 4.56 and has a Lockright. Here's a good list of what you can get for the 10.25 but it does not include the new ratios available-
