I'll edit this post if I find a link

I just got a set of the new BFG's (35's), there sweet, but they do offer a 37, I dont know how much. But the deal I got on these 35's ($630 mounted, balanced, tax, out the door.) Dont ask me where, because I sent a buddy in there to get the same deal, and they wouldnt give it to him. Guess they liked me.

also i called my buddy Jeff at discount tire, he said he could get goodyear mtr's in 37" size for about 460.$ ( still a little steep)

AFAIK - the 37" tires are priced so high because they are just being "offered" to the public because that is necessary for the tires to be "legal" in certain off road events...

Kinda like how some car companies back in the 60's & 70's made a production run of like 400 cars to be able for that car to pass the minimum requirements as a "stock car" for some racing leagues...

Hmm... this is the first I have heard of this rumor. I have heard plenty others related to these tires though. AFAIK, the 37" MT/Rs are really only being used in the ARCA series. Since this is a relatively new series and Goodyear is the primary sponsor, they could make whatever rules they wanted. So this arguement doesn't make much sense. Unfortunately I don't have a better explanation though.

Maybe they are being used in SODA or CORR races too though and I just don't know about it. Whatever the reason, I don't understand why they would price them so high. It doesn't make sense to market something through competition and then make them unfeasible for consumers to buy. Doesn't the saying go "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday"?

I think that the 37's are hand made, and that's why they're so expensive. And they're probably only making them because they've been sponsoring so many events lately, and their 35 just wouldn't be big enough for the competitors to run.
