It'll be fine. Shaft size is the same, axle is just 3" wider. I'm running 38's on mine haven't had a problem yet. Still haven't broken a birf either.

I ran 37" boggers on mine for a while,
switched to 36" tsl"s. Wheels fine. If you
drive your vehicle on the street much, stay
away from boggers, they ride like backhoe
tires on bent rims.

It will work fine in the rear. I abuse the shit out of my rig with no problems. 38 SX's on an 88 rear with a 4banger diff with 5.29's and a detroit. It's all good.

Blown R&P's may be your only concern. I've only heard of a few blown rear axles, but have seen a few blown 5:29's. My bro just blew a set this past weekend (35" boggers, 86 4cyl rear, detroit).

Just don't do it in an IFS 7.5" diff.

I knew a guy that did that. He had 38x14.50 Swampers on his IFS truck w/5.29s.

It at gears for lunch. Not to mention balljoints, idler arms, and halfshafts.
