Well I built an AR Pistol on to an 80% lower T/M I machined.
It's a 7-1/2" stainless barrel. I can't remember but I think it's a YHM handgaurd.
I shot it the other day. A total of (2) rounds.
I've decided I don't like it. I like the way it looks, but don't like shooting it.
So I was thinking, should I try to sell/ trade the upper?
Or could I thread/pin an extension on and convert it to a Rifle and put a stock
on it.
Thoughts?
This is a Calif Legal Pistol, has bullet button and 10 ound Magazine.

Wrong. You can make a pistol into a rifle, but you can't make a rifle into a pistol.*

* Except the latest "interpretation" letter that seems to refute that, apparently for the contender like kits.

But, but, but... if you converted a pistol to a rifle, then it's a rifle. A rifle is non-convertable to a pistol.

Seriously, I was thinking wrong, no? :(

Exactly, rifle2pistol NO pistol2rifle Yes

I don't want to sell the lower. I had some personal engraving done while it was a paperweight.

It didn't take long to figure out I just didn't like it.
It is loud as FUCK, and I don't like not having a stock.

What about just taking off the muzzle break, and having a threaded stainless
barrel extension, threaded on, and a litlle spotweld (so it's permenate).
or
Part barrel extension part FAKE CAN.?

Could I just unthread the Muzzle break
and thread on a 10" chunk of barrel, or would the gas system need to be modified?
Maybe it would be cheaper to just buy a new barrel? But then would I have
to worry about headspacing?

Thanks for any help advise.

A new barrel would be the easiest. You shouldn't have to re headspace, but checking is good.

I put a Levang comp on my 10.5" AR pistol, it works really well.

Thumbs Up for JSE SURPLUS

I just got off the phone with them.
A solution has been obtained.
They are allowing me to send back my pistol kit and buffer tube.
And they are going to send out a replacment M4 barrel.
All is well, thanks for the input.
By the Way.
AR Pistols fun to look at. Not fun to shoot. my .02

looks like I'm going to need a stock....

Thanks OSR
