If you have an '03 or newer Dodge dualie and plan to put a
Lance slide in camper on it you WILL have the rear tiedown
turnbuckles JUST touch the back of the rear fenders. I have this
problem on mine. I called Lance Campers yesterday and they
just recently found out about this. They have come out with a new
rear tiedown bracket that uses to existing mounting bolts.
The part # is "SM216REP". You can order them through your local
Lance dealer. MSRP is appx. $5.50. Mine are on order and I will
post a write up and pics of the swap.

What exactly is the problem? Why the new turnbuckles?

It's not the turnbuckles. It's the rear turnbuckle mounting brackets. They are too far forward and that slants the rear
turnbuckles towards the front at the top just enough so that they hit the back of the dualie fenders. The new brackets move the
hole for the turnbuckle towards the back of the camper so the turnbuckle will clear the fender.

Did it fawk up your paint?

It looks like some minor scuff marks. They should buff out.
