Does anyone with a horde of SM420s have a shifter to sell me? I asked in the wanted section but nobody reads that, and you guys are so much more friendly anyhow. So how about it?

With a bit of modification you can make a 4 (or three) speed stick work If you have a buddy that has a SM have him pull the shift lever out and compare the two. It is really quite easy to add a bit of material to your Lc shifter and shape it...

Piece of cake

Actually the Toy three speed shifter drops right in like it was made to go there, that's what I'm running now. It even tightened up the shifts too. The four speed shifter needs to be lengthened in order to fit in the 420.

And another nice thing about the stock toy shifter is it is shorter and makes the shifting smoother. We tried fitting the stock one when we found the GM was going to interfere with the steering wheel and didn't have a torch! Works fine in both of ours. But if you want the GM shifter I have one for you. Call me at 425-8611 and leave a message. Going to Las Vegas for the races this weekend.
