This was posted by Crowdog on the Johnson Valley thread, I'm sure he'll be adding more info. (Where is the CBD office? How many are going?)

Saturday, November 3, 2001 will be our second rally outside the CBD (Center for Biological Diversity) office in Idyllwild. We are meeting at 11:00 to wave signs and banners and to pass out information.

Please join us in helping to educate the public on how to fight the environmental industry.

Here is a link to a writeup on the first protest: http://www.forestaccess.org/cbd-rally.php

Thanks fro the support. It almost feels like I am yelling in an empty building sometimes. I really don't think people get it until it directly affects their playground. The CBD does not mess around. They file lawsuit after lawsuit aimed at closing down access to help protect plants and animals that they don't always have enough information about.

Off-roaders need to get mad and do something about it, or you'll be using your 4x4 for getting groceries....

I'll get off my soapbox fo now.

Here's a link to a discussion on the ASA board: ID=3255&FORUM_ID=19&CAT_ID=1&Topic_Title=PUBLIC+ACCESS+RALLY+at+CBD+office&Forum_Title=Upcoming+Events

How is a rally going to affect these guys? As long as the species act is in effect they will continue to file and win suits. Simple as that. The laws need to be changed. We could stand there all day, and these guys are just gona look at us and keep filing law suits claiming some fly or bug is in need of protection.

How about we go burn the place down and drive over there cars? Ok I know it won't help but it would sure make me feel better!

Ok I am a little bitter about this whole deal, they seem to win 90% of the cases they file and are kicking our butts out of every great wheeling spot they can find.

That's what I'm thinking, if enough people go we can take photos and issue a press release to So Cal newspapers, and use any articles that print for ammo in writing letters to politicians. Don't care what the CBD thinks, but it's a good plug for recreational users.

I don't post on 4x4wire at all anymore...

1. I hate the banner ads.
2. A few of the guys are just A-holes so I left.... they bring down the rest of the board. same reason Lloyd left also.

Anyways..we have a pretty good group going now over at montero4x4...chat board anyways.

I will be up at ElCapitan that entire weekend so unfortuantly, I can't make it..
Maybe Steve, Dat etc.. can make it.

If I didn't have plans, then I'd go.

P.S. we have to get together sometime!

Just received a bit more information via email:

Who ever can attend and bring another warm body, please attend this rally at
the Center's new office at 54870 Pine Crest Ave, Fern Valley Ca. (This is the
village adjacent to Idyllwild) I believe puting this address with the city
of Fern Valley or Idyllwild on mapquest.com will yeild the same directions.
The rally starts at 11am, however those folks that want there literature to
be included in the plastic bag handouts need to arrive at 9am to help stuff
the bags.
Also, some of you may want to make a hand held poster or sign to help voice
your concern(s).
