I don't know if this topic has been discussed before, I did search.
I just want to know if you guys have built "axle stands" for working on your D44. Some pics would be great. However would making it out of steel better than just making something out of wood? Wood is easier for me to do. I cant fab and don't have the stuff to do it.

I was thinking of cutting a "V" on two 2x8's actually.

Don't have a pic of it, but I built a roll around cart out of 1x1 steel tubing, cost maybe $40 for the steel and wheels. Haven't thrown a front axle on it, but it works great on rear ends.

I made my own big rig jack stands out of 2.5x.25, 3x.188, and 2x.125 square tubing. 19" to 31" ability.

They also hold axles. :)



This was, of course, posting pictures of my scout on a combination of 2x4s and semi-tractor rims..hey, its still on the leaning [email protected]!
