i was out at my friends farm a week ago and i found this sweet looking frame sitting in the weeds at his little junkyard. we know it is for a jeep but we dont know what,cj5 or cj7.
i am think of trying to build a whole jeep. but i was wondering what would be good axles to put under it.
there is a wagoneer sitting right beside it but i think that they would be too wide, right?
but if i were to get some like d30/d35 axles from a jeep in the bone yard, how well would the hold up to a set of 35 or 36's?
just looking for some suggestions
thanks

no man i am dead serious i am just looking for some suggestions. all my experience has been with toyotas and full size chevy and fords. i have never worked on a jeep b4.
my only concern with the fullsize axles is how far are they gonna stick out the sides?
i am in western pa and we have to have all of our tire coverd for yearly inspection
i dont think the full size would fit under the jeep, would it?
since i am on a budget too i was hoping to stay away from having to get the cut down, that could be expensive, i dunno?
i know these could be some dumb q's but thanks for any help

look for an early '70 something d44 and as for the front, dana 30, unless you get lucky and find a d44 that's already cut down. Are you going to put a flatfender tub on it? what motor/tranny/x-fer case are you thinking? If you're going flattie, and starting with a frame, I'd load it up with Toyota running gear did I say that outloud???

i was planning on going with a cj tub if i can find a good one. but i am thinking i will need some major flares if i end up putting the waggy axles under it.
i would like to put d44's under it cause i plan on running 36's.
as for the motor i thought a 350, i can think of 3 of these i could get for next to nothing!
and something like a chevy 4spd creeper and a 205 t-case
thanks

wht axles really depends on what drivetrain you are goign with....what t-case mostly. if you are going passenger side droop or drivers side make a HUGE difference in axle choices. Are you planning on going coils, coilovers, or leafs? fullsize axles that aren't cut down stick out pretty far, but waggy axles are a good fit, you might need to widen the frame mounts or narrow the perches, but they are a great option as far as width and strength...
