got the b.o.m # for a 60 a guy was selling in the paper. looked it up at the expert site, it said it was a 61 with 3.54 gears , but couldnt get any more info. is it worth messing with this axle? # was 610342-2. or shall i keep searching?oh yea... i want to put it under my toyota .. he wants $600 for the axle complete

The only problem I know using a 61 is you do not hav many options on gears but You can use 60 gears in a 61 with a ring gear spacer

do a search under dana 61's.... see what you think after reading the gear/locker thing's about them...

or, if you were motivated enough use the tubes and outer's and get a tera or dyna HP chunk for it

Id skip it. Look for a 60 out of a 90+ E-350 Van. It has all the benifits of the 61(massive tubes, big spindles for 35 spline axles, smooth bottom) and you can use standard D 60 gears and lockers, etc.
