OK I just picked up 85 4 rnr and the left front spring hanger is pushed back about 1" and up a bit. What is the best way to square up its location. I'm going to cut it off and weld it, or a new one on and I want it to drive straight. Would measuring from the rear shackle mount forward and maching the other side (straight) be a close enough measurement? Then how close does it need to be for height, what can I use for measuring the height to match the other side?

On the side that is straight, measure from eye to eye and the transfer that measurement to the other. That should put the hangar in the right location. Just in case, measure the erye at the top of the shackle <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
