Okay yeah I know I'm gonna get the "Go to jeepsunlimited" blah blah...your question is :rainbow: ...oh well.

I know you guys have the experience so thats why I am asking. I have a 95YJ...right now I have a 4" SUA with 31's (yeah I know...should have got 33's)...anyway what would you guys run for 35's (other than coils...I'm not made of money). SOA with stock springs sounds good...but might be a bit tight...maybe SOA with 2inch springs? I know I could bump up my 4" SUA lift with some shackles/body lift...but I'd rather do it the right way...oh yeah not quite ready to get liberal with the sawzall either...this is still a daily driver. Also BTW I am planning on upgrading my axles as well....haven't quite decided which ones to put in. Most of my wheeling is sand/mud but I like to play on the rocks as well.

I predict you'll be told to SOA the 4" springs and run bigger then 35's. Then you'll be told about the merits of running 60's.
You'll end up doing a body lift and or some shackle lift instead.

1- Sawzall Your Fenders
2- Run TJ Flares
3- SOA with stock YJ Springs

You`ll be able to clear 35's with SOA and YJ springs but yo will eat your fenders when flexing, so sawzall the fenders..

Or you can get the RE 1.5" SOA springs.. they add about 1.75-2.00 inches of lift on SOA and then you can run 35s" no cuttin of the fenders required....

...oh ya ... search :D

Well...coil conversions aren't really expensive, but who needs coils with 35"s? Doesn't make sense...

Just go SOA maybe swapping in a different rear axle while you're at it and junk the 4" springs. Get some stock YJ springs and add a leaf to it...search around you'll find answers.

Oh ya...I did search...found a few ideas but not really any answers. Found about 4 pages or so of posts flaming newbies for asking similar questions and a couple threads with legitimate answers. Figured' I'd ask you guys anyway and if I got flamed then oh well. Thanks though for the replies...I have thought about TJ flares as well...a body lift might be okay as long as its 1"....won't go any more than that....it looks bad plus it drops your shifters into the floor too much.

I would deffinatley go with TJ flares (if you want a stock looking flare) and a 1" body isnt even noticeable (not on mine anyway).

The TJ flare, especially slightly trimmed gives a lot more room. (I was supprised at how much)

SOA with stock springs and these Items would be good I would think. Especially for a Daily driver. What are you gonna do about the T-Case/ driveshafts, ... SYE??

Right now Im running 4" springs, spring under, with a 1.25" body lift, and some liberal fender cutting. If I had to do it over again, the only thing Id do different is stick some custom tube fenders up front, which Im going to be doing anyway, in about 2 weeks. Im going to run 37" tires under this same setup soon, but with a bit more rear fender trimming.

i run a SOA with Old Man Emu 2.5" springs, i dont hit my 35s on the fenders. it also has a 2" body lift. just weld the extension rod into your shift levers, it comes with the kit. i used a Rubicon Express drop pitman arm to clear the drag link off of the leaf spring. Also used a Currie SYE to keep the ds from vibrating.

You can run 35's pretty comfortably with TJ flares, a 1" body lift, and SOA using stock spring packs (plus an extra main leaf in each to make them last much longer).

If you use these springs, I recommend drilling another hole in the rear axle's spring perches so you can offset the axle 1" further back. This way, when you stuff the rear and the spring goes into negative arch, the wheel won't be pulled forward as much. Right now, mine does this and is hitting the leading edge of the rear fender well. Moving it one inch further back should take care of this problem.

I can't do the same for my front due to drag link / tie rod clearance issues

I daily drive my 89' YJ with 35" tires and 3.5" + SOA... Cut the fenders just enough for the TJ flares. You will not regret it.
