Well I got it. So far I like it lots of extra support. It dont squeek, It dont shake. It just works. some Minor modifications required due to any body lift.

But what do you expect. Pics when I can find a dig camera. This post is FYI

I just ordered mine today. I saw it and ordered it the same day. It's pretty nice and solid.

How did you modify the lower bracket to work with a body lift? I am thinking about just cutting and welding on a 1" piece of steel to accomidate the BL.

Ahh, you bought it Belly! I was gonna get one, called everywhere, but nobody had them in at the time. I've been tossing the idea around of buying a welder and building my own bumper/tire carrier. I don't know what the fawk I'm doing. Pipe dreams dude. I'm too broke to buy anything, but I always run sheeit through my mind. Then I realize I ain't got's no money. It really sucks
I'd like to take a look at your carrier sometime though. I still might pick one up. Where did you get it? Jim's off-road warehouse had it for $219. And I just got a new Summit catalog where they're $230, but no shipping. And those guys are so friggin' fast if I ordered it Monday, it would be at my door by the time I got home on Tuesday. Later!

It says it will accomodate "up to" a 35" tire which I take to mean.. if you go to a 35 thats about all it can handle for a short amount of time before breaking. If you want a beefy tire carrier, check out OR FAB's tire carrier. They just got one done for yj's, and I'll be testing it soon and my buddy will be doing a review of it on off road.com.. I hope.. it is supposed to hold a 39" tire if you get the ones with gas cans, and more if you get the ones without.

I didn't modify the lower bracket yet but I am going to just weld on a piece like you are going to.

so far I have my 35 MTR on it and I sat on top of it with the door open and no problems and mind you that is without the reinforced lower bracket.

I believe it could handle a 38" tire. But it might have to be flat.

My 35 is flat. But not by choice, It leaks a little bit. Well anyhow. the 35 has room around it. I have about 1 1/2inches above the tomken rear bumper. It would be trickey to get your hand behind anything bigger than a 36" tire to open the gate.

The tire sits in nice and tight to the rear of the jeep. And Its up nice and high.

sorry no pics yet except one, and I am trying to resize it with bad results.

1220, I got it at 4wheeldrive hardware. Total was 250.00 It only weighs 22 lbs.

Some assembly required.
