I certainly would. One trip to the hardware store beats one day getting yanked along the trail by aother rig in 2WD because it turns out those web wheelers were right. ;)

The factory bolts are the metric equivalent of Grade 8. And have a long shoulder and extra-fine threads. I have heard they are $4-5 each from the stealer.:eek:

wouldn't say that you "need" to, but you should use grade 8's if possible. I once broke 3 of the 4 bolts on the front flange of my rear driveshaft in my 4runner and the half-hanging-on driveshaft just about tore thru my underbody/rear heater. Don't know if the nuts had loosened over time or what, but get some fine threaded grade 8's and be done with it.

Recently I busted the yoke on the front, and cracked the yoke flange on the rear all of which were attached using grade 8 hardware.

Id rather bust a couple bolts than the yokes and flanges, so I personally am going to step down to grade 5 and carry extras.
