Have any of you mixed and matched proportioning valves between different breeds of vehicles.??

If so what and what criteria were followed for making sure proper braking was achieved??

Thanks for the comments/tips....oh, but not the smart assed ones :p

I've changed them around some, never had a problem with any of them, I'd bet most drum/disk units are pretty much the same except for fitting/mounting and possibly bore size in some cases.

I've used the manual one from Wilwood on a couple different race cars and a rodded 56 pickup. On my pickup I just went out in the gravel and kept adjusting it till the rear tires skid just after the front. Been that way for 5 or 6 years now and seems fine. I just re-did the brakes on my CJ-7 too and that was my test. Skid in the gravel! It turned out alright without a proportioning valve.
