I had a buddy of mine who has a shop in the Placervile area build me some bumpers front and rear. Take a look, I think they turned out pretty good. *EDIT*

And the winch (cuz I know your gonna ask)... its the Costco one they sell for $299 (putting flame suit on)

With this one we used the two bolts on the center, and then welded it on, but he is planning to build a winch mount plate similar to Trail Gear's

http://www.trail-gear.com/toy-bumper.html

So that ne welding will be required. Mine was a prototype.
Any other opinions on this design?

I think it looks great.
My only comments on the front would be that it's got to be held on there by more than 2 points.. Welding it would be one solution, but that's not the best solution if you ever want it to come off again. If you could design it for more mount points - or integrate it with the FWOR winch mount setup, that'd be the way to do it (IMHO).

In terms of selling it, I think you'll have better luck keeping it cheap and letting ding-dongs buy it without considerations for acutal strength of the mount points.

The rear, again, I really like it.. It's not designed for the stress of towing though, at least as far as I can see.. Any thoughts to on the price?
This front bumper (prototype) has two bolts, then welded all around. The ones he is going to sell will have the standard six bolts design and pre-drilled fot FWOR winch setup.

Im not going to tow anything with the rear, just made an easier setup for straps and to attach a D ring to.

*EDIT*
We may ax this thread, simply because it is advertising for a vendor who has not purchased Yellow Star vendor subscription.

DRM and I will discuss.

BTW, if it is a vendor who already is a vendor here, post the name!

Why bother with bolts if its welded:confused:

The bolts were more for testing the design. This was a learning process.

I didnt mean for this to be an advertising thread... sorry. I was just asking about your opinions of the design. I will edit out any references to matters that require a yellow star.
Is it me, or does it seem like it reduced the approach angle up front and the departure angle in the rear? I would like the design better if it sat a little higher.

Opinions are like assholes though, every a-hole seems to have one.....
I really like the rear bumper... I would also like to see how it mounts to the frame.
The rear has heavy brackets (1/2" steel plate) that slide into the frame and are bolted in with 4 large bolts (not sure the size we used.)

As as losing departure angle, the rear bumper has to drop to allow the tailgate to still operate.

Next build will be ARB style roof racks with custom brackets that will allow them to be mounted with or without the fiberglass top on.
