Long story short my driveline hits my pan so I need to cut and clearance it. It would be nice if I started with something thicker but everything thicker is aluminum. I did find something a bit thicker here

http://www.c6-c4.com/

C6 Heavy Duty 2WD Steel Pan. Ford vehicles with C6 transmissions often have oil pan leaks. The original Ford C6 oil pans are made with thin-gauge steel. This pan is 25% thicker. If the oil pan bolts are over-tightened, the flange at the bolt holes will warp and will result in a poor gasket seal. Once the oil pan flange is distorted, it is difficult to repair the pan flange to get a good seal. The new heavy duty C6 oil pan is made of thick gauge material and will resist warping at the bolt holes. The thicker flange will allow the bolts to be tightened enough to compress the gasket evenly and result in a good seal. The new heavy duty pan will withstand repeated assembly without damage. Can be used on a 4WD with a 2WD filter. Cost $29.00
But it's probably not much thicker. Ideally it would be nice if someone made a ring so I can just fab my own sort of like diff covers but I seriously doubt anyone does. So the question - what is the diff. between the 2wd and 4wd covers and does anyone make a stout STEEL one that will fit my 4wd C6?

thx..
