I have an FMC 5800, i ordered some of the chips on the board, mainly the ones under the protective coating, i will try to replace those and see what happens, i will let yall know!
The analog circuitry under the protective coating is extremely sensitive to moisture. I went through extensive testing and the solution for me was simply to keep the board indoors and dry between uses rather than in an unheated shop. The previous owner must have realized this because I found a 250 watt light bulb in the cabinet that was keeping everything warm and dry for him.

I did have a flaky rotary encoder position sensor. Seems there are at least 3 versions of position sensors. Mine was upgraded to a rotary encoder around 1998 so it does not use either version of the disc with the position holes.
Thanks everyone for all the information provided here it's really helpful.

I have a FMC5800 that initially would not brake. That problem was the reversing contractor (A275KXX-12VDC) was worn and kept hanging up. I found a new one from Radwell new old stock for $50.60 which took care of that problem. Now on to calibrating it, which shows the Lp6 lo error and I get 0 & 0 when I do the F11 test, which stops after about 30 seconds.

As mentioned the links to the service manual don't seem to work for me.

Could anyone send me the service manual for 5800 ? I would be grateful. [email protected]

Here's the link to the reversing contractor if anyone needs one

Thanks Tim

Thanks Larry for sending the Manual. I had no output on one of the position encoder phases, replaced the LM339 op amp and everything calibrated perfectly.

Thanks everyone for the information
If still possible I would like a copy of the repair manual for the 5800. I just purchased one and it seems like all is good but want to be prepared for the future.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi I have a 4100 and when I try to calibrate or use f11 it just spins and won't stop and help would be greatly appreciated. I can't even get a pots reading
Hi there, first time posting on here. I just purchased a John bean FMC 4100 tire balancer and am trying to calibrate it. The calibration procedure looks really simple but I can’t seem to find the weight. Part # 110563 from what I’ve found. It wasn’t with the other accessories that came with the machine. Is it hidden somewhere inside the machine? If not does anybody know where I could get one or what its dimensions are? Was thinking I might be able to make one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

On my machine it is screwed into the back left, upper side of the machine. Looks like about a 2-3 in dia black round piece of steel sticking out. Just unscrew it out.

Thanks for your quick reply. I just checked the back but it looks like it is missing. Looks like I am going to have to find a new one somewhere.
I know it's a long shot but does anyone have a service manual for a John Bean 8.5. I happened upon on for $100 dollars which needed some repairs. Long story short I redesigned a circuit board to replace the membrane keypad which was bad and found out the left transducer was plugged in to the wrong spot. It not passes calibration but it seems to chase the weights a bit. I was hoping to find the service manual with info on the specific transducer voltages.

Andrew, I made one out of a 5/15 bolt and used a mixture of flat washers until the bolt and washers weighed exactly 5.5 oz. works perfectly
Let me know if it comes through OK Cheers !!
Holy cow, this is way more than I had in my original ZIP file. Thanks man! This thread just keeps giving!
could you send me a 4100 repair manual.

thanks for your help,

I have the same problem can I get a copy of the manual you have.
Darius, if your machine is working now, I have a question for you - in the manual it says that to select different weight placements you hit "ALU" and then a number corresponding to the number on the chart which shows the positions.

Does this work on your machine? I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly. I'm thinking mainly for wheels where you need a clip weight on the back and adhesive weights for the front.
Can you email me a copy of the service manual for the FMC 5800 service manual please email is
