Saw a kid comming up Greenback in a doorless beater Yota covered in mud. I ask out the window where he was, he said Folsom Lake. I went out there and had some fun a few years ago, but a ranger threatened us and chased us out. Other people get "fine threats" I've heard of too, but others seem to find some fun over there. What gives? Anyone know what the dealeo is?

Reason is RPS wants to play in the mud somewhere on Sat morn. Folsom's closer than PC is.

Well, Lance and I used to go out there like every weekend during a drout season and just fully get it awn in the mud, but that was like 12 years ago! There used to always be alot of other people out there doing the same stuff. At that time the lake was damn near dry, and the best spot was over by Rattle snake bar, there were some fun hills to climb, and deep mud to attempt!

But times have changed since then, so I doubt that you can still get away with the things we used to do.

OK. Now I HAVE to go check it out. Conflicting reports here. I'll go make some contacts and get back with the real deal.

Thanks for the info fellas.

I already tried that one and they will issue a ticket if they catch you out there playing in the mud. Seeing as how you have to pass by their gate on the way out and on the way in, they could get you for bogging just by the fact that you go in clean and come out muddy. I have never heard of any trouble with playing on the rocks however.

I haven't been since the last drough in the early 80s, but if you go to far east you will get a ticket. There are signs up at the high water mark. The problem is the water is about 1 mile away from the high water mark and you can't see the signs.

I've never seen "rules" but if you are going down to the lake fishing and happen to drive through some mud... I can't see whats wrong with that.

I've gotten tickets, warnings, dirty looks and <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> from the rangers out there. Its always been in the rocks not mud but I say If you keep your rig clean you shouldn't have any problems. Seen them give many tickets for people in the mud. If you do decide to go out there got to Oak point there is a nice slab with a few different lines, and just past Dotons point and there are lots of rocks to play on.
