CarsonCity, NV Area El Dorado Canyon - Yep the area that was just in the Blue Ribbon's "InGear" publication needs your help. I got this email from a freind at the local BLM office. So lets do what we can to keep our trails open people. WE have to at least stop ourselves and the people we are out with from trashing our favorite areas.

Hi Brian,

Wanted you to be aware that we recently received several letters from the
public regarding truck use in the stream portions, muddy springs area and
on the unique rock formations adjacent to Eldorado Canyon's main road. The
letters are advocating closure of Eldorado to all vehicles.

We could use your help. I thought this may be an opportunity for your jeep
club members to patrol the area to see what is going on and to educate some
of the less ethical drivers. These folks need to know that the road is
open for their use, but driving off that road is totally unacceptable and
could result in exclusion from the area entirely.

If you want to read some of the letters or see the photos they sent in,
let me know. This is not good for the OHV recreationisits in the Pine
Nuts !

Thank you ....

Brian . . .

My junk is broke dick right now but I'm willing to help out in any way possible. It would be a shame to see a 130+ year old trail closed.

Thanks RC. I am waiting on BLM to make the next move. We are offering to adopt the trail but have yet to hear anything about it.

Crow,
I'm working with Fran at the Carson City office. She told me to talk to Arthur Callan to go from here. I sent an email to him this morning and am awaiting a reply.

Brian,

I am going to D.C. in February with ORBA and other organizations.

I already have a meeting setup with Congressman Gibbons, and I am trying to set one up with Senator Ensign.
I will be discussing Sand Mountain, Wilson Canyon and any other OHV issues that I can get my hands on.

Please keep me in the loop with this so I can discuss the situation with them.

[email protected]

Thanks,

Jon
