I am ordering the All-pro Extreme lift kit for a 85 runner. I wrench, but don't have the tools or the experience to weld and torch. I cringe at the thought of turning the truck over to a shop. So, I need some help. Do you or any other PA POR member have the time in November to help out a newer member get his feet wet, under the truck?

I don't weld either but I do tack a lot No really, if you can tack weld then get a buddy to finish the welds then you will be ahead of the game. As far as a torch goes, they are relatively easy to use and you can practice before you actually cut anything off. Remember you can get close enough then use a grinder to finish it nicely. It is scary, but once you do the first cuts/welds you will gain confidence as you continue. Just my $.02

Trust me I WANT to do it. I just don't have the equipment, nor a friend with the equipment. I am not yet to the point in my life where I can buy them. Need the house and garage first.

I have a shop in Salunga, Pa just north of Lancaster. I have a plasma cutter and a big mig welder, and just about everyother tool you could need.

Yo! what's up man. Hey, Chad's place is right around the corner from Jandy's. I'll be heading over there on Friday to swap out some doors. He's good people... you should take him up on his offer... I'll even take your 85 over to him via Blackwoods

YOU DA MAN! Would you be able to help me out with the install. I am sure a few coins and would come your way. But after reading the All-pro kit install instructions, it looks like a very VERY long day up on stands.

Oh, and DogDenII "...He's good people..." where did you learn language. From the Amish? LOL

Ha, I have been doing my homework for 4 months. The textbook keeps changing, but I am narrowing it down.

Anything I touch turns into a project. Just the nature of the MudShack.

I guess your taking the easy way out and ordering a complete kit instead of having to track down parts and hoping they work. I did the same thing after a guy I know gave me the break down of all the parts I would need to do it myself and it came damn close to the price of the All-Pro kit. Now if I could get my 84 running and find someone to install my All-Pro kit I would be set.
Good luck on your install and have fun.

Yeh, man! That and the check book got tired of writing out money to Toyota for the tacoma. So if I had to go to an older cheaper truck, why not do it right???

Oh, and I have talked with the president of Parnelli Jones' Dirt Grip division. 35x12.5x15's are coming out in Novemeber. WOO HOO!

Yeh, I have been adding up the cost, and after everything was said and done, the All pro kit is only a little bit more. And it all comes at once. Not chasing down the UPS man for 3 weeks straight. I need my runner up and running before the 17th, or it will not be going to the cabin with me for hunting season.

And did I mention that the sweet 85 SR5 with only 160k total and 3000 miles on the engine is out in.......ST. LOUIS!!!! 15 freakin hours away! Gotta work on getting first, then worry about the rest. So much to do, so little time.

Too bad they are soooo pricey!! I can buy a set of 5 wheels and Swampers for what those PJ's cost! I'm sure they are great, but the price needs to drop bigtime IMHO

I agree. The 36's are OUTRAGOUS. And the 33's were steep. But they are comparable to the price of teh 33" MTRs. So I expect the price of the 35's to be the same as the MTRs, around $190. Gosh I hope

I thought I saw one add where the 36x14.5 were like $240 or $260 each :barf might be wrong on the size)...$200 is my per tire limit...hell at the moment, I hope, I hope I can hold off for a few more months..lol

You are right. I think they are $268 per tire. Saudiboy up above bought a set when they first came out. Too much for my blood.

85TrailToy, I think you rolled you truck on purpose so you would have an excuse to buy a 4runner after seeing how well mine did with the few mods it has. How is your runner coming along?
