We are out, Yesterday was crazy, This place is locked down We checked out with the Fire Boss guy, left the gate open and boogied. Pre evacuation notices given by the Sheriff. You can't get in without a utility bill for an address up there.
These will be th last pics from Ellison Creek, The forest is locked down, I may throw on a pack and hike up to Roberts Mesa for a view. Not moving anything out of the Village, yet. Trailer is hooked to tow pig and buddies on Overgard and Payson If I need temp storage.
Smokey in the Village this morning, Weather is predicting down canyon winds this afternoon.
Actually got to watch the fire jumped the last ridge before heading down into
upper Ellison Creek.

So I listened to as much of the local new as I could stand and decide to go get some pics, Todays rig will be a pair of hiking boots and a day pack. Headed out of the villae straight towards the fire, about 5 miles out I got close enough to smell it with out smoke and hear a faint rumble. Holy shit. The East side of the Highline fire, The West side of Myrtle point blew up right in front of me.
Fire is following the exact same route as te Dude Fire. Meads Ranch will be just below it soon, if it makes it around the corner it will run up Tonto Creek to the Fish Hatchery.

Back in the valley of the Furnace, Ellison Creek Mandatory Evacuation. Dozer lines above Ellison Creek are holding, interestingly listening to the Sheriff on the scanner, Mandatory Evacuation, a handful of residents have signed paperwork refusing to leave, they are not evacuating. Sheriff sez if you leave you will not get back in.
The village is locked down, Neighbors are keeping me posted, so far fire is following the same path as the Dude for the most part, difference being the Monsoon rains helped extiguish the Dude, we have no rain in sight, High dry temps predicted for the next week. Still no word of cause.
Fairly confident The Highline Fire will not reach the Village, Mead and Long Ranch are next.
Plan A, my wheeling buddies will empty the shop and house if necessary. Skull Crusher is far away and not threatened at this time.

Pics from the High Tension wires south of the Village.
