will an 83 22re long block from a celica swap in to an 85w/22re?
so far i have found out the deck height is different and water pump also, if you use the correct water pump and front cover off of the 83 motor, will it all come together? also i hear that the exhaust bolt pattern is different, but you don't have to drill, just relocate studs, is this true. if you use the 83 lower plenum and the upper 85 will that work for the intake side? thanks

Not sure about the exhaust side but you can use the '83 lower/'85 upper for the intake. This will allow you to keep all the '85 wiring.

thanks ya'll, i was looking at it and i think you're right. i found an 83 motor, it looks good, i pulled the head and i could still see the hone marks and very little ring ridge, the car had 100,000 on it. is it uncommon for a 100.000 mile 22re to have so little wear? when i yanked it i didn't have an allen wrench to get the last bolt out so i took the lower plenum........spooky.......was it ment to be?
bitchen camaros all around
