I have a leak at the top of in the grearbox on my 1990 3/4 to Burb. I bought the gasket kit and just started working on it. I'm trying to do it without removing the gearbox.

I have the shaft disconnected, but don't know how to get the box open so I can replace the gasket. Of course, the instructions suck.

I can't getthe rag joint off either.

How do you get the thing open? Is there a special tool?

Here's what I'm looking at... WTH???

You have to take the bolt for the rag joint all the way out. Just loosening it won't do because it fits into a groove in the input shaft. Then you will need some snap-ring pliers to remove the snap ring and replace the seal.
