Discussion Starter #1
I've moved my battery to a box in the cargo area of my XJ to make room for OBA. The pos. cable is routed under the jeep and up to a junction block under the hood where the starter, winch alt. lead, etc. are all connected.

It all works great as it is, but I'd like to use a high-amp circuit breaker or fusible link to protect against an accidental short in the 15-20 ft. of cable between the battery and the junction block under the hood. I'm concerned that a dead short caused by a collision or the cable insulation melting or rubbing through would make a great big jeep-b-cue.

I know the starter and the winch are the big current draws; any suggestions on what to use? WranglerNW has a 105A automatic breaker - would this be big enough?

Thanks -

Jeff

Here is a chart that shows winch amp draw. They are all pretty much over 300 amps ans would expect your starter will be well over 100amps
