Well I can not contain my excitement.

My hippie sugardaddy from Louisana sent me a CKD kit from Land Rover. He has always been the best parts connection for project vehicles. So I often talk with him about building up a Defender 130 for expedition work and mall cruising.

We have been discussing the CKD buzz lately as reported by Serious One. He did not seem to believe Land Rover would offer such kits to the NAS market. But it looks like when he checked on it we found out different. The fact is he must have got them at such a bargain price he got me two of them. A green Defender 130 High capacity crewcab pickup and a matching one in red.

Now if I can chase some customers off at the shop and find the time to assemble one of them to drive for the holiday season, I will be a happy camper. They have some really gnarly options. Maybe you guys should check prices on these CKD kits for yourselves.

George at RDS is trying to keep a low profile on these CKD kits right now. So do not call him on the phone about it. He is afraid big brother is listening in on him. Email him with this part # and tell him you are aware of the need for being discreet. LRO 1073 AS NS.

I wish I could share pictures of the CKD kit with you all. But I am not equiped to do so. Maybe I will sell one of the 130 Defenders (probably the red one) and buy a Computer and Camera. Man this is the best Christmas ever.

Read my comments about buying a kit and importing it on your own w/out Land Rovers involvement.

This is what I believe they had in mind all along.

Congrats, the red and green 130's would look good parked next to a Christmas Tree.

Until I see pics I'm skeptical, but knowing you and the hippie wouldn't be surprized if you actually did it.

Way to go man! (now quit being a cheap bastard and buy a digi-cam!).

Got a chance to go through the parts list on the kits. Everything seems to be there. Hope my sugardaddy is not to upset about me spilling the beans. How could I be expected to keep this a secret?

These trucks have a factory lift kit with coil over shocks as well. And one of them is running straight exhaust I think. I should know more at the end of the day. If I can muster up the energy.

I just got the flu bug last night. It was standing room only at the porcelin water machine. Both of us are sick and the outlaws are in town to visit. just great.

Well I am done praying to the porcelon god now. Nasty flu bug should have got a flu shot this year.

George is talking to me still, but he was angry I let the cat out of the hat. He seems to be getting a lot of inquiries about this so maybe he can make a few big orders.

The G man says they are South African spec. They usually come without upholstrey(sp) but he says these came complete. No powerstroke motors here, in fact the powerplants leave something to be desired.

I am going in today to organize things with the forklift. I am tired of being couped up and look forward to playing with these new rovers.
