Tested the TPS after a rather interesting drive home from kentucky. Ever been on the interstate for 5 hours w/ a shot TPS?

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone's had any luck getting one to work again by cleaning the contacts inside of it, or if you tried and ended up replacing the joker anyway. Can I even GET inside of the thing? How?

Yeah I pulled one apart once. 1st problem is you gotta break it to get in it. It has very small brushes that ride the resistive traces on the board and the terminals are soldered to the circuit board. More trouble than it's worth since they just wear out and probably can't be fixed. I couldn't fix mine, too far gone.

take a sharp knife and cut the rtv around the plastic and use a screw driver to pry the plastic cap off, dont try to disconnect the connectors at the side of the tps (thay are soldered in) get some contact cleaner and give it a shot.............i had to buy another one my self.

good luck
