So, I am cutting one of the two fender bolts on the bottom by the door off. I also am creating tabs to drill and rebolt the inner fender. And I am cutting all the way back to the body mount.

As far as moving the axle forward, I won't be doing that until I link, which isn't in the near future. But I have my mind thinking that out ahead of time too.

Just started, with tabs:

Forget about the plastic liner. You're going to end up ripping it out anyway. Worse part about not having it is the mud slinging into the door jamb.

What about the wiring up in the fender? Doesn't the mud affect it. I think I am going to try and save the plastic inner fender at least for now cuz of the wiring. My aux wires for the lights and stuff goes through up there.

Flexed it. I still have more cutting for next week. But almost bottoming out the bumpstop, this is where the wheel to fender is:
Also, the fender will be bent over at the top black line.
This is flexed and turned some:

Another pic flexed and almost on the bumpstop.

Not a tremendous amount but hopefully enough. Although, it is more than the pic shows.

Oh, and I put those jam nuts on the tie rods and aligned it. It is at 1/4" toe in.

Lookin good. I dig your truck. Any reason on setting toe at 1/4”? I’ve always done 1/16”-1/8.”

Thanks.
Well, I am new to it. And I was tired of the change it was making going from jackstands to on the tires. So I settled at 1/4 thinking that is acceptable. Maybe, I should get it closer to an 1/8th. I drove it on pavement up to 35, and it seemed good. But I haven't slammed on the brakes yet. I would like it to be stable while on the brakes hard.

I don’t think you’ll notice much in handling, might hold a straight line easier without wondering as much. I think if you drive it on the road a lot you’ll notice a little bit more tire wear.

Hey, that sounds good to me. And really, it won't be on the pavement that much, only back roads to the mountains.(y)

As far as what you asked me about the wiring harness up in the fender. Yes you are better off keeping the liner if you can. I couldn't.

The harness is wrapped and I have not had any issues since 2011 or so. But I am in dry AZ.

Nice job and nice truck.

Finished cutting. Now I am grinding the paint preparing for the welding. But I haven't cut or bent the sheet metal yet, except for one little piece. I did get a sand bag and mallet to bend the sheet metal to shape. First time. Keep praying!

I am deciding whether to do the sheet metal in one large piece or two pieces, one little piece for the bottom. Like I said, I am new to this so I am figuring it out as I go. Although, I am going off the search...

Here are the holes now:

16 gauge is a lot thicker than the body. You're going to fight it more than a thinner piece.
Thank you for the compliment earlier, by the way.

And yes, I am fighting it. I used 16 Guage cuz that is what someone else used on this site. But I am prevailing. It is bending for me, but I had to use the ball peen instead of the soft mallet.

It's chewing up my sand bag too, and I have a welding jacket covering it while pounding.

Got the 20 Guage. It is soooo much easier to work with. I shaped it, put some tabs on it, and tacked it on. The welding flame is erratic. I think cuz of a bad ground. I finally got it tacked somewhat after blowing some holes in it. I am using a cheap tig. Now the gaps are too big to tig anyway, so I am borrowing my uncle's Lincoln mig. That should do it

Here is the driver's side so far. I haven't got the passenger side shaped yet. Any advice is appreciated.
