Not sure why you'd want to do that - the later EFI non-coil in cap distributor is a much better design (no stray voltage in the cap arcing through the advance weighs and screwing them up), the external coil is more powerful and small, easy to mount, and it works with carb or EFI.

I'd just swap one in. I did, and it improved my carb idle so much i got lazy on the rest of the EFI swap

Thanks! What year/model of vehicle did you pull the distributor and coil out of?

Any 82-95 Throttle body injected 305 or 350. I got a truck one (90Blazer with 350) but I think car and truck Dists are the same?
