I am looking at purchaseing a Dana 44 out of a 79 Ford 1/2ton truck. The thing has 6lug disk brakes and radius arm mounts. I would be putting this in my Jeep Cherokee and probably trying to keep the radius arms.

It doesn't have manual locking hubs, how could I convert it to use some warn hubs, and how much would it cost? Can you tell me anything good or bad about this axle? Let me know, Tim

It's not orignal. Something has been changed. Ford didn't use 6 lug. It should be 5 lug.

But to your other question, just replace the bull gears with lock outs and your good. As far as using radius arms, make sure you grab the trac bar as well. I would just set it up like you see it in the ford, will maybe with the addition of wristed arm, or extened arms.

WAR20990 should be the part # you'll need. Probably between $80-$90 for the pair. It is very easy to make the conversion. All you have to do is take out the hub assembly, and put the new one in, screw the caps on, and you're done.
