I've had my 35x15.50's for 5 years, they've been on 3 different rigs, and have been wheeled very hard, and used for Daily driving duties. Had small cracks in the sidewalls for the last 2.5 years, and haven't had any problems.

Hmm I have the same tire and have no cracks......to me thats an indication that the tires been sitting for a while? If so it might have some cracks and I bet their flatspotted to hell!!!! Check em out and then make a choice. Tires that are sunbaked and have been sitting for a while have this condidtion ....

I've had my 36" SX's for about 3.5 years and no cracks. Plenty of surface cuts and scratches from rocks though.

SX's are super-tough tires. Go for it. BTW-they hook-up great when you groove them

My TSL's have small cracks around where the beadlock is, not deep or hard just some little cracks. I figured it was becuase of the Co2 from the powertank just drying out the tires? Any thoughts on this.

You better get some spare axles, or at least weld your caps in . I got about 3 moderate runs out of my 297's with 38's.

My 38" SX's are cracked also. Been that way for over as year. I think airing them way down contributes to this. I wouldn't worry about it on a light rig.
I have heard of people having trouble with SX's on heavyr rigs Like fullsize trucks that haul heavy loads.
I don't know the specifics but I overheard this while in a local 4x4 shop. They said one of the local tire dealers was recalling the SX's that they sold to heavy truck owners. When I asked about mine they said not a problem on smaller rigs.

no welding th caps for me, cause i only have the Chevy stock style axles so i run the 297x, this way i get a nice clean brake and get to reuse my axle (if i stop in time)

i wish Jess would finish up the heavy duty 297's so i can buy a real set of axles

Thats what I thought to.......and to some degree you are correct but 95% of the time Stock axles on a D44 will be destroyed when the u-joint goes.
Thats why I got Warns so I could save $200.00 every time I broke a u-joint. Now if I could just afford those CTM or wahtever they are called joints........

Fawk it I need a D60 bottom line.

If they are only 2 months old does he have the reciept for them still? I would think they'd have a warrenty on them. That way if something happens you would be covered.... ???

The 29" mini-SXs I had on my old Samurai got a few little cracks on the sidewalls. I never had aired them down, either, to me it seemed like a summer sun-baked, road-heat build up kind of problem.
FWIW they were parallel to the rim.

My 38.5's have lots of cracks and sidewall cuts. But then again they have been abused for two years now. The lower you go with them and the more your cram them into sharp rocks the worse they will look. But I find it hard to beleive a tire that is only two months old has lots of cracks unless he is wheeling the hell out of those tires.

I am debate between the Moser and Warn's so far i going to say moser just for cost, i can get the moser for like 300 and the Warns i have only see for 500 yikes!

but i do iwsh i had a 60, its just not in the $$$$cards
