this might be a stupid question but has anyone done their steering linkage like a dodge 2500 where the drag link is attached to the tie rod? i know it works good on the road but how dose it work in the rocks under pressure? i just did a SOA on my cj5 and the drag link get bound up on the leaf at full drop.i was thinking about going to high steer but im going to be getting 44s this next winter and dont really want to put that much work into an axle that im just going to be taking out.

I got a high steer kit from parts mike with 1 ton tie rod ends that is set up like your dodge. I am very happy with the setup (also CJ-5, SOA, D44 front), and I will keep it when I go to links.

You can use Dana 44 knuckles and everything out from there on your 30. Then when you swap to Dana 44 reuse knuckles and brakes. You'll just have to have tie rod and draglink remade according to the width of the 44. You'll also need to find stub axles out of I believe a 70-71 Chevy pickup as they use the same small 260 size ujoint as the Dana 30 you have now. It was a pain in the ass to piece together. I should have just put the 44 to begin with.
