Hi guys,
I'm new here on this forum. I have questions about doing a cross over steering conversion on my front d44. It is out of a 73. 8 lug pattern and closed knuckles, drum breaks. I'm not sure that it is a d44 or a 60 so I should nail that down first. On the drivers side the original steering arm mounts on the knuckle with a four bolt square pattern. I'm wondering how hard it is to drill and tap the knuckle myself?? I also was wondering if I could just weld the the steering arm on the passenger side. I am a very good and partly certified welder welder. So I think that would work. Another question is how hard are the knuckles brakes to take off.

Thanks alot guys.
