how hard is it to cut an turn an axle? i have an idea on how its done, but i want to make sure i know how before i start. is there a write up already on this? and if not would it be possible to get one? :D:laughing:

Search for words "knuckle" "caster", that will get you threads cutting and turning knuckles. Basically, grind the weld all the way around the knuckle, using a BFH (might need some heat) set the caster (need a good angle finder, digital preferred, but dial will work) , then weld them back up.

Edit: Most recommend around +6* positive caster (top of the knuckle tilted back)

lol well i know im probably going to get dogged on for this one, but how do you know what to set the caster at?

You read one of the several threads out there about this same topic. Many of them talk about what caster to shoot for... and that is around -6* IIRC
