I just joined and noticed that a bunch of people cut off the back end of their XJs so they would look more like a truck, I was wondering how hard this was to do and if there were any advantages than it looking cool.

Looks good. weighs less and after a few hard trails the rear hatch usually doesn't work or look very well.

thanks is it that hard to do and can you put someting back there if it rains like what cj's have.

No, its not hard to cut, just grab a sawzall. But you sure as hell better have a cage tied into a subframe and brace everything to minimize flex, or your body will fold into a neat little pile..........:flipoff2:



edit-leave the bed open to the elements, just run a YJ/TJ Windjammer thing behind the rear seats, keep most the rain out. Or have a custom top made to cover the whole rear, your choice.
