I got a call today from a friend and he's been having problem for a while with his D1 shearing lower shocks mounts on the shock. I haven't had a chance to see the truck yet, and probably won't see it until Saturday. He said he checked everything, and it nothing seems out of place, worn or loose...so where should I look beyond bushings and loose trailing arms...

Are they Procomps?

shock mounts could be miss aligned. I see this often with aftermarket shock mounts. be sure that the lower is turn so that the shock doesn't bind during articulation.

like i said, i haven't seen the truck, could be procomps, but i thought he had blingsteins...I will check mount, pretty sure he has his sways...will also check shock lenght...

sounds like he has the wrong length shocks or he is using spacers under the shocks.

is this front or rear shocks?

According to the gentleman from whom I got my Blingensteins, the most common cause for busted studs is overtorquing.

Might check to see how tight they are being torqued.

rear shocks...I also think they are the wrong length...I'll also check to see if to much torque is being applied...
