i was wondering how many of you have broke the ring and pinion in front d44s and what you were running(power, tires and size, lockers,etc.) with stronger shafts locker and larger tires should it fail first or the shafts almost always fail first/
BBC, 38's, open, broke teeth off the ring gear and then shredded the spider gears. Never broke an axle or hub. Decided to not waste money on the 44 and got a 60, Detroit, 35 spline outers. Another guy in our club has alloy everything, Detroit, CTM's and a Buick V6. Hammers it all the time and never breaks a thing.
