A while back I read about someone that was making low gear sets for dana 18 transfer cases, does anyone have info on this, I did a search but could not find it.

Tera Mfg. makes a 3.15:1 gearset for the Spicer 18.

Considering a stock D18 is 2.46:1, seems like a whole lot of $$ to move to 3.15:1

T18 + D18 + 5.38's = pretty good crawl (84:1)

Sorry for sandbagging on the jeep forum but what the hell, I'm running the tera set in my Dana 18 in my FJ40 and I love it. It makes a bit more noise than stock but I had a very noticable decrease in crawl speed. I say it's well worth the money. I paid $585(shipped to CA) for the set about 8 months ago from Sam's offroad in OK. I'm using a dana 20 case with a 18 rear output and and only had to grind a bit off the lower part of the case for the intermediate gear to fit. Only took 4-1/2 hours to complete including dropping the t-case and re-installing.

I've got O'brians number at the shop . If you'll give me a call in the morning I'll read you off his prices or give you his number. I'll also give you a price on the Tera kit if your interested. And I promise no body will be able to beat it.

He's in Sac and from what I remember based on my conversation with him last year we're talking $1300 for a 4.86:1 or somewhere in that range.. that was a while ago though, give Matt a call and he'll hook you up with his # or his price sheet Im sure. Although I recommend calling the dude if you're gonna look seriously at his gear sets.. He'll happily talk to you for a LONG time and give you pretty much any level of detail you want, or could ever ask for
