i think the klune and sami case might be pushing the limits a bit. scwafish you were thinking of going to klune and a dana 300. i read in an old post of yours that it bolts directly to the 300 with no adaptors. did it seem like it would be a fairly simple swap? it would be bulletproof. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I am starting to wish I had stuck to that plan right about now...DOH! Oh well live and learn. The klune is setup using the D300 circular bolt pattern. They bolt right together with a small spacer and a "mounting foot" between them. Then all you need is the little sami to Klune intermediate shaft they sell. You save lots of money not buying the rest of the $700 sami kit. This combo give you a centered output, major beefiness, and really low gears with lots of possible combos.

You can get a twin stick setup from Currie or others for about $130 plus $20 for the twin boot. This replaces the 300 linkage and shifter.

scwafish, with the short klune intermediate shaft are the driveline outputs going to be at about the same height as stock? (did you get this far?) i've got just about all the lift this truck can handle without getting into some cazy driveshaft combos... at least in the front i'm maxed.

I still don't know why people want 2 Lo? I have it and see no practial reason for it. I get to the trail, I lock the hubs, throw it in 4 lo and leave it there till I see pavement. Am I missing something?

front lockers make it hard to turn when they're engaged. by putting it in 2-low you can unlock the front... almost like you had an arb locker. also running in 2-low will help me avoid breaking birfields.

i found another question to ask about this tcase. will my 1310 ujoint fit in the rear tcase yoke? and will my toyota front ujoint fit in the front yoke? if not do i have to change my drivelines to the correct ujoint or is there another alternative... adaptors or something?

Most all 300s are for 1310s. I'm not sure what you'd have to do for the front. You can twin stick a 300. or just leave the Klune in low and shift out of 4x. I'm pretty sure the 300 would be easier to fit, it is pretty compact but with an intermediate shaft and a clockable pattern, you definitely have more installation options tha with a lot of other things.
