i need to change the pinion bearings on my 86 cj7 with the factory 44 i call the parts store and they all tell me a 44 was not availiable in a 86 cj7 .All the stores tell me the same thing should i just order the bearings and seals for a yj dana 44
please help with this

if yah cant find parts for a 86 cj d44 ya sure aint gonna find any for a yj, yjs didnt come with them. id try like a 73 or 74 cj5 they came with d44s

i believe they are.... the tj's 44 are the same as the old ones.... cept for length...


or better yet, just pull the bearings out... get the #'s off them and go pick up new ones

i always take in the four wheel drive parts wholesalers with me, then show them just becasue they know what fawking water pump fits a 82 4banger grand am doesnt mean they know shit about my truck...also they can cross reference the part # with the book under the counter..and when they ask you if you need any hand cleaner tell em t <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

Dont use 4 wheel parts that is your problem, call Specialty or Scotties 4wd

thanks for the help guys i picked up the master install kit and then dropped it all off at the machine shop to have the old bearrings removed and new ones pressed on
hope it all fits i'll know in an hour
