I have a dana 60 rear axel out of a f-250 with 3.54 gears. what carrier do I need to use to put 4.56 gears in it. I am pretty sure that the 3.54 carrier is not the right one. Is the 4.10 and lower carrier the one to use? Is there a differencein spacing in them? any info would help.
thanks
Chris

You will need the 4.10 and up carrier (numerically higher).

You can get a "thick" gear, which is made to work on your carrier.

You will need a 4.56-up carrier. It is often refered to as a 4 series carrer where yours is called a 3 series carrier. The break on a 60 is 4.56-up and 4.10-down. Like noted thou ther are some gear sets out there that will work with the carrier you has if you really wanted to keep it.
