All these questions refer to the kingpin style.

Besides spring perches, how is a '78 Ford Dana 60 front end different from later (after '80) models like the newer coil sprung versions? What was the last year they used leaf sprung dana 60 front ends? Are the bearings and seals the same?

What about GM Dana 60's? Are any of the internals the same as a Ford?

Pretty much everything is the same. At once point Ford went from kingpins to ball joints, though.

as TX4wheeler pointed out in the other post 78-79 has the diff closer to center and 80-97 were offset more all the ford dana 60's were mounted with leaf springs as far as I know.

80 to 86 according to Ford was TTB and every F350 in those years that I have seen has had a dana 50 IFS, but many people clain a dana 60 was a factory option. I don't know anythig about those axles but I would bet if they existed they were mounted with leafs too, since the dana 50 IFS was sprung with leaf springs.
