i have a ff dana 60 out of a '74 j2000, i am planning on running 35 spline shafts in it but lately i have been reading about people having to drill them out or using 14bolt outers, is this only on chevy d60's and if not please fill me in on this subject. also, if my d44/60 axles are out of A FSJ are they for style or chevy or jeep? thanks for helpin out a newb!

Its the spindles that need to be bigger to fit the 1.5in shafts, some people would use 14 bolt spindles grafted on and hubs, then use the 60 35 spline FF shafts, and redrill them(cant redrill a 14bolt shaft btw for 60 bolt pattern). 14 bolt cause they were prolly cheap and handy, no reason you shouldnt be to just bore the spindles unless your spindles are the thin type. Ive got a big bore and heavy duty 61FF empty housing if your interested.

thanks i appreciate the help, i'll see what i can find out, weather permitting.

i would have searched but the search engine is no longer offered to non-redstar members. i cant afford the redstar right now so i can not search on pirate. i would search on google but i figured i would ask this knowledgeable community. thanks guys, im still learning and and appreciate any input.
